Adding Collectibles to My Collections!
I've been visiting the auctions, estate sales, and flea markets again, and I've got new collectibles to add to my collections! Wanna see?
So sweet! I’m loving my Bashful Ducklings salt and pepper shakers! They were made by the Shawnee Pottery in the late 1940s and early 1950s. I found these little treasures in an antique mall during my Labor Day, Family Reunion adventure.
More salt and pepper shakers! The Love-Of-My-Life ordered them off the internet to surprise me. These are nodders — Fish Nodders. Nodders are little figural shakers that sit in a holder and pivot in a nodding motion. This set, with its fun saying (that I couldn’t resist), was made in Japan in the 1940s and 1950s.
Do you remember these little glasses? Some of them might still reside in Grandma’s kitchen cabinet. They’re called Swanky Swigs! Made by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company, they were originally sold in the 1930s-1940 as reusable containers for spreadable Kraft cheese. They came in lots of different patterns, and I’m trying to collect a couple of each of them.
I finally broke down, dug way deep in my wallet, raised my hand at an auction, and bought the Anchor Hocking Fire King Jade-ite batter bowl that I’ve wanting for several years! Now, I’m officially running out of room in the hutch where my Jade-ite collection lives…How’s your collection growing?
