I spent some time shopping the Crochet ePatterns on the Leisure Arts site again yesterday. Now, I’m trying to pick out a baby afghan pattern to crochet. Daughter’s friend’s new baby girl needs a handmade blanket in a hurry. Help me pick! I’ve narrowed it down to my top 10, but I can’t make up my mind which one to make…they’re all so pretty…
April Showers Baby Afghan Crochet ePatternA showering of soft Shell Stitches makes up this sweet afghan for Baby. The cozy wrap is crocheted using worsted weight brushed acrylic yarn and a size K (7.00 mm) hook.
Baby Ripples Afghan Crochet ePatternCaress baby in the light-an-airy ripples of this cute coverlet! Made of sport weight yarn with a size G (4.00 mm) hook, soft pink and green zigzags are separated by white cables for a pleasant geometric effect.
Baby's Aran Afghan Crochet ePatternWe've combined two of our favorite afghan styles, baby and Aran, to craft this lovely classic baby cover-up. Try working the tiny coverlet in soft worsted weight yarn, so the characteristic cables and bobbles will be twice as nice for cuddling your little one! We used a size H (5.00 mm) hook.
Baby's Diamond Delight Afghan Crochet ePatternDiamonds can be a baby boy's best friend, too, when they're as soft and snuggly as these are! Pamper him with this blanket of diamond-patterned popcorns, stitched in blue and trimmed in white. (Just switch to pink and white to shower a baby girl with her first diamonds.) Our design is crocheted using sport weight yarn and a size G (4.00 mm) hook.
Beary Sweet Stripes Crochet Afghan for Baby ePatternCluster stitches form a path of flowers down the center of each colorful strip in this sweet baby afghan. The eight yarn colors make this blanket sure to coordinate with any nursery decor. The wrap is crocheted in mile-a-minute strips using sport weight yarn and a size E (3.50 mm) hook.
Blanket of Snowflakes Crochet ePatternSnuggled under a soft blanket of pastel snowflakes, baby will rest easy all through the night. Hexagon motifs of sport weight yarn crocheted using a size G (4.00 mm) hook make up this darling coverlet.
Blossoming Baby Afghan Crochet ePatternYour little one will look as fresh as a flower in this sweet wrap. The light-and-airy cover-up features a swirl of petals for a baby-soft touch. Our design was crocheted using sport weight yarn and a size G (4.00 mm) hook.
Shells & Braids Baby Afghan Crochet ePatternAlthough worked in one piece, this texture-rich baby afghan appears to be made in horizontal bands featuring blocks of Shell Stitches and Chain Loop Braiding. In the pretty edging, Front Post Double Crochet Stitches help define the scallop look of the Shell Stitches. The afghan is crocheted using sport weight yarn and a size F (3.75 mm) hook.
Rainbow on the Double Baby Afghan Crochet ePatternSoft as a cloud, this afghan is worked holding two strands of yarn together throughout. The rainbow stripes are softened by mixing one strand of white and one strand of color yarn. The design is crocheted in a Cluster Stitch pattern using sport weight yarn and a size K (6.5 mm) crochet hook. The sweet edging features Puff Stitches.
Petal Stitch Coverlet Baby Afghan Crochet ePatternLovely for a stroll in the park, this coverlet is crocheted using baby weight yarn and a size 4 steel hook. It is made with Petal Stitch, which is quick and fun to do once you have mastered the fundamentals. The 6-round edging features Love Knot Stitch.Which pretty crocheted baby blanket is your favorite? Why did you pick that one? What yarn colors would you use to make it? (I'm kinda tired of pastel colors!)
